Lola, a platform specializing in customized cake design and ordering solutions, has raised $3 million in a Seed funding round led by Vision Ventures, with participation from Aljazira Capital, Seedra Ventures, and Plus VC, alongside angel investors.
Founded in 2023 by Othman Janahi, the platform aims to address traditional challenges in ordering customized cakes by offering an interactive digital experience that allows users to design and refine their orders before production.
The company plans to deploy the new funding to strengthen its operational infrastructure, including establishing a centralized production facility in Dammam, while adopting a hybrid model combining central production with cloud kitchens to support rapid expansion and ensure product quality.
Qais Al-Essa, Co-founder and CEO of Vision Ventures, noted that Lola is solving a real consumer pain point using innovative technology, highlighting that the market size could exceed $12 billion by 2030.
Othman Janahi, Founder and CEO of Lola, stated that the company’s vision extends beyond cake ordering to building a comprehensive platform for celebrations and gifting, aiming to redefine the customer experience.
The startup has already expanded across several regional markets, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, driven by growing demand for digital solutions in the events and celebrations sector..
